Elves and Dwarves

Ok I LOVE reading fantasy novels there are amazing books and I wish to write one if I can come up with a story and plot. But thats not what I actually wanted to talk about.

Why is it that in all fantasy books that include dwarves and elves the dwarves are always like Irish or scotish and the elves are always fair, and upper class with a profiency in fighting, magic and swordsmanship that it just about in their blood.( In some cases it is) I just don't know why they have made this connection. It would be funny to have a story of a brutish ent that is similar to the Urk-hui from Lord of the Rings and an Dwarf are regal as an ent or elf. It would be quit a backwards book.

Yes I know am I geek so don't bother mentioning it.

Fly on. Fly free,

Huh. Interesting....Like those "Politically Correct Fairy Tales" books. You'd have elves who are clumsy and dwarves who aren't short. You could make the dwarves Vegan flower-children, (like the hippies of late 60s-early 70s, instead of hippies from the 70s up) and the elves can be like the politician/communist overlords who are self-centered and need to be surrounded by powerful beings (pixies, nymphs and dryads if all your fantasy creatures are to be backwards) because they're too klutzy to take care of themselves! That would make one heck of a movie....

I love it! But you have to make sure that, at heart, that they all just want to be loved. -makes sappy doe eyes- And end with them dancing around a Maypole. Holding hands. Singing "Happy Together." Or something. Maybe they could be eating cake. With lots of flowers. Yeah...
Sorry, that was a bit weird. (Understatement of the month.) ;)
